"Sketchy" Information

Q. What do a demoted military strategist, a scientist, a secret operative, an ex-convict, and an AWOL soldier have in commmon?

A. They form the superior strike force known as THE FRONTEERS!

Codename: MAJOR DAMAGE
Name: Clifton Dunbar

The team leader. He resigned from his military post following his demotion to the rank of Major. The nickname "Damage" came as an in-joke in military circles to add further insult to a situation that he regarded as a "witch hunt" and SOMEONE was going to take the blame.

Looks like they found their man.

Beneath his "hard as nails" attitude he has a lot of heart. Actually, he has two of them! Affording him hyper-human strength, endurance, speed, etc. His honed military fighting knowledge and skill plus his heightened physical attributes makes him virtually a combat machine.

Q. What is their purpose?

A. THE FRONTEERS are a "self-appointed" international (and often times "personal") crisis response unit. They have no "official" recognition, yet the U.S. government (as well as others) will "look the other way" from time to time as "most" of this units activities are seen as benevolent. And, the fact that Major Damage, his persona, and his unequalled capabilities as a strategist is well known in military circles, helps keep the authorities at bay.

Codename: LADY LUX
Name: Shannon Weston

When approached by Major Damage to join his "FRONTEERS" she jumped at the opportunity. As a mechanical scientist by trade, the opportunity to work with/on cutting-edge ARSENAL technology to further her own knowledge made her decision easy.

Although she is the most vulnerable melee fighter on the team, she wields the most raw power with her ability to control and redirect light. The Major is helping her to gain greater control over her ability, as well as instructing her on how to gain a tactical aerial advantage over opponents using her increased manueverability from flight.

Q. Where does their funding come from?

A. THE FRONTEERS are secretly commissioned by ARSENAL (Advanced Resesearch Society of Engineers in National Arms Laboratories) to field test the latest in weaponry and technology. With stress testing and proof of the prototypes passing these field tests, final versions of the equipment are made and sold to the government (or any government willing to pay the price!).

Codename: FIREARMS
Name: Craig Heath

One word: EGO. Although he was passed over by ARSENAL and the "field testing" duties were given to the Major, he still feels like he could lead the team if given the opportunity. He respects Major Damage's leadership qualities and has no problem working "with" him.

He had already honed his extraordinary skill with weapons requiring point and shoot hand-eye coordination during his employment as an operative of ARSENAL. He is a very skilled and capable fighter with a few unexplained qualities of his own, but "willingly" plays second fiddle to Major Damage.

Q. What EXACTLY is a field test?

A. The efficiency and performance of the technology is reported back to ARSENAL, as they cannot sell their inventions without documentation of extensive stress testing. THE FRONTEERS' personal agenda in which the equipment is used for is NOT necessary to relay to ARSENAL. While ARSENAL will disavow any knowledge or relationship with THE FRONTEERS if the team is exposed. That's the deal.

Codename: GRENADIER
Name: Kenneth Green

He's done his time, now... to rejoin society. And who's going to hire him? Having little respect for government authority figures, this is his way of "getting back" at those who put him away in the first place. By enlisting with the FRONTEERS he knows that he is somewhat protected under the umbrella that is Major Damage and it still allows him to feel the "rush" of danger he longed for when he was clearly on the wrong side of the law. The FRONTEERS' objectives blurs those lines just enough to keep him interested.

Sure, he's had his share of scrapes, but his real reliance is on his concussive "grenades" and specific effect line-of-site control.

Q. I didn't read all the details, can you summarize all of this?

A. "Field testing" cutting-edge technolgy supplied by ARSENAL, coupled with THE FRONTEERS varied talents and hyper-heroic abilities, the team takes on all manner of corrupt organizations both at home and abroad.

And sometimes it IS personal.

Codename: BASTION
Name: Brian Rosell

A good kid. Trying to find some direction in his life. He thought by joining the military, it would give him some direction. But, from day one, they had little concern for "Brian" and had nothing but concern for his hyper-powers. Major Damage convinced him of an existence as more than just a "tool" for the military. The young man decided it was best to stay close to "someone like himself" with hyper-human abilities, so he can learn to cope and adjust from someone with real world experience.

He is still learning the finer points of hand-to-hand combat, and his training during his stint in the military was minimal. However, his IMMENSE strength and unique ability to fortify objects with this strength(with a few drawbacks) certainly levels the playing field.
